PS5 VRR

The PS5 Is Finally Getting VRR Support This Week And Here’s The Games That Will Support It First

PS5 VRR Support Has Finally Arrived!

After confirming that it was coming soon, PlayStation has now announced that the PS5 is getting VRR support this week. A brand new PS5 system update will arrive this week allowing HDMI 2.1 VRR compatible TVs and monitors to support VRR between your PS5 and display. VRR syncs the refresh rate of your display to the PS5 output so that you don’t get screen tearing and other display issues.

In the coming weeks, updates for the below PS5 games will arrive enabling VRR support:

  • Astro’s Playroom
  • Call of Duty: Vanguard
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Deathloop
  • Destiny 2
  • Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
  • DIRT 5
  • Godfall
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
  • Tribes of Midgard

As PlayStation had already announced, you can turn VRR on in the Screen and Video settings. You can also turn on VRR for games that don’t support it. The blog post says that this will improve video quality for some games, but you’re also able to turn this off if any weirdness occurs.

Obviously, as games release throughout the year, we should see more and more games launch with VRR support, as we have been on both Xbox Series X as well as PC.

If you’re after a HDMI 2.1 compatible TV/monitor, you can find our guide HERE. Alternatively, if you’re looking to win a HDMI 2.1 monitor worth $1,750, we’ve got one from MSI HERE.
