Ubisoft Is Raising The Price Of Its Big AAA Games But Australia Doesn’t Seem To Be Affected (Yet)

Skull & Bones cheaper in Australia than it is in the US

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has said that Ubisoft will raise the price of its bigger releases to $70 USD ($120 AUD in next-gen pricing terms), with this beginning with Skull & Bones, which is priced at $70 USD.

“Some of the games will come at the same price as the competition,… The big AAA games will come at $70 (USD).” said Guillemot to Axios.

Interestingly enough, this price isn’t yet reflected with Skull and Bones listed for $69 AUD on both PS5 and Xbox Series X on Amazon (which is literally cheaper than the price in USD). Looking at EB Games, the games are listed $109 which seems standard for a game at EB Games that hasn’t had a next-gen price hike (NBA is currently listed at $120). JB is listed for $89 which again, is a little bit higher, but doesn’t reflect the $70 USD price tag that we’ve seen for other publishers such as PlayStation, Activsion and EA. Obviously, this could be set to change in the coming days, so if you are looking to get Skull & Bones (or even remotely interested), you are better off locking it in at $69 HERE.

This won’t affect all of Ubisoft’s games globally with Assassin’s Creed Mirage to be priced at $50 USD. Even more confusingly, this is listed at $69 AUD on Amazon for all platforms, which you can find HERE.

Skull & Bones launches for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC on November 8th.

We’ve reached out to Ubisoft to see what this means for Australian prices going forward for Skull & Bones and beyond and will let you know if we hear back.
