We’ve been long awaiting the announcement of a Nintendo Switch Pro and it’s looking like it’s coming within the next six months.
Taipei-based newspaper Economic Daily News claims that a new Switch will enter production later this year with a planned release of Q1 2021 (Jan-March).
The new Switch will apparently feature upgraded “interactivity” as well as improved display quality. It’s unclear what upgraded interactivity means, but it’s been long thought that the Switch would receive a power boost.
A third Nintendo Switch model has been long-rumoured. The Wall Street Journal revealed details earlier this year, and Switch firmware update 10.0.0 referenced a third Nintendo Switch console.
It makes complete sense that Nintendo would wait until next year to release a new console with both the PS5 and Xbox Series X set to launch later this year.
