More News On Ubisoft’s Open World Star Wars Game Looks To Be Coming This Year

It’s wild to think that we first learned of Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars game, being developed at its Massive Entertainment studio (The Division 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora) nearly exactly two years ago now and have heard almost nothing since.

That looks set to change soon enough though, with Creative Director, Julian Gerighty, sharing a new year’s message on social media with the tease that 2023 might finally be the year we learn more about this no-doubt ambitious Star Wars project, which will be powered by the company’s Snowdrop engine.

In fact, Massive has also recently opened up to user playtesting for the game, putting the call-out in December for players to sign up for a chance to help test and shape the game. Specifically, the company has been looking for people in the proximity of Malmö, Sweden where its offices are located.

It’s set to be another big year for Star Wars games then, with the release of Respawn and EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor just around the corner on March 17th, 2023.
