Ubisoft Says That Beyond Good & Evil 2 Is Still In Development

Beyond a doubt.

Last week we reported on the news that Ubisoft had made the decision to delay its upcoming pirate game, Skull & Bones, as well as cancel a number of projects in development due to an abundance of caution in the face of financial challenges.

With the publishing giant admitting that it planned to pivot more toward “mega-brand” and live service titles, many had begun to speculate whether Beyond Good & Evil 2, an ambitious title that’s been in and out of development hell for the better part of 15 years, had found itself in the firing line.

It seems as though there’s no need for Beyond Good & Evil fans to worry, though – a Ubisoft representative has spoken to Eurogamer regarding the sequel and assured the publication that it is indeed still in active development.

“Beyond Good and Evil 2’s development is under way and the team is hard at work to deliver on its ambitious promise,” the Ubisoft staffer told Tom Phillips at the website.

The last we heard from the game was back in 2020 with the news of game designer Michael Ancel retiring from the video games industry altogether, as well as a Netflix series based on the IP being in the works.
