Physical Copies Of LEGO 2K Drive’s Awesome Edition Are Releasing Early

Faster than a speeding brick.

When LEGO 2K Drive’s release date and different special editions were announced, it was revealed that the Awesome Edition and Awesome Rivals Edition would come with three days early access, launching on May 16th instead of the standard release date of May 19th.

That was seemingly only for the digital versions of the game though, with the physical copy of the LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition (an EB Games exclusive in Australia) still set to drop alongside the standard version on the 19th.

Now, it seems that a decision has been made to bring the physical copies of the Awesome Edition up to speed with the digital ones, with EB Games messaging pre-order customers to let them know it’s now hitting shelves at the earlier date:

That means that anyone who’s pre-ordered the LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition at EB, or wants to try their luck at walking in and picking one up, can grab it as early as tomorrow, May 16th. You’d have hoped this was the case from the beginning with a $149.95 asking price for this version, but at least it’s been rectified now. The EB Games website still shows the May 19th release date but we’d assume that will change in due time.
