Announced last Thursday, Mortal Kombat 1 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC on September 19th and it’s promising a reinvention of the series with new fighting mechanics and characters, and it looks like some of those new characters may have been leaked well ahead of time.
According to a now-revised listing on the Amazon Italy web store (spotted by r/GamingLeaksAndRumours), the game’s “Kombat Pack 1” DLC, which is included in the Premium Edition of the game and will presumably be available as a separate purchase, contains some surprising additions to the roster from outside of the Mortal Kombat universe. The supposed inclusions are:
- Quan Chi
- Omni Man
- Ermac
- Peacemaker
- Takeda
- Homelander
It’s a mix of recognisable Mortal Kombat fighters and some comic book cameos from the likes of Peacemaker, Homelander (The Boys) and Omni-Man (Invincible). Fans will be particularly excited for the latter two to go head-to-head in the game’s brutal fashion. On top of the six playable characters, five “Kameo” characters were also leaked as part of the pack, which are Tremor, Johnny Cage , Khameleon, Mavado, Ferra. These are believed to be unplayable “assist” type characters but until we see or hear from from the team at NetherRealm their exact nature is still a bit murky.
Mortal Kombat 1’s Standard and Premium Editions are available to pre-order now via local retailers. The Kollector’s Edition hasn’t been announced for a local release as yet.
