TEKKEN 8 Is Getting A Closed Beta So Here’s How To Get In

Bandai Namco is serving CNT.

Bandai Namco has announced that Tekken 8 is holding a closed beta, or Closed Network Test, very soon, kicking (and punching) off on July 21st.

The CNT will offer online, head-to-head Ranked matches with cross-platform matchmaking, 16 playable characters to choose from and five stages to fight on. The first session of the Closed Network Test will run exclusively on PlayStation 5, while the second will be available the following week on all three relevant platforms across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Keen CNT punters can register here to be considered to participate in the test, with selections for entry into the CNT happening on a first-come basis.

Bandai Namco says, “The aim of this network test is to evaluate the network’s quality as well as offering a high end game experience with our new battle system and tactics; aerial combos; new gen graphics; and destructive and interactive stages to players.”

The schedule for the test based on local Aussie times is as follows:

We were hands-on with Tekken 8 ourselves earlier in the year, and came away impressed by its mechanical ambitions, saying “There’s a clear commitment to delivering a unique type of play within the scope of TEKKEN, as well as creating something that warrants the description of being a truly next-gen fighting game. Though I’m uncertain as to how all of its systems will come together in totality, TEKKEN 8 seems like it’s going to be a remarkably good time for both fans and newcomers alike when it launches in the next 12 months.”
