For the first time ever during a Call of Duty early access or open beta weekend, players will be able to go hands-on with one of the game’s single-player campaign missions, as revealed this morning by the brand official channels.
Over the next two weekends, players will get to sample a plethora of multiplayer maps set to feature in the final game, as well as the campaign mission Entrenched, which looks set to feature tense trench-funnelled action, explosive escapes, and a bit of tank action.
Warzone is also set to feature in the second week, during the open beta weekend.
Refer to Call of Duty’s post for a full rundown of the maps and modes that’ll be featured across both of the beta weekends. It’s worth remembering that while the second weekend is open to all, the early access weekend beginning August 21 is strictly for pre-order customers.
Interestingly, the second week will also be the only weekend available for Nintendo Switch 2 users, which’ll be a good litmus test for how the game is performing as Call of Duty ramps toward its first day and date release on Nintendo in several years.
Call of Duty’s early access beta weekend begins after Call of Duty NEXT on August 21, while the open beta weekend is the following week on August 28.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 releases October 23, 2026, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who pre-order any digital edition get campaign early access starting October 16, 2026.
