Striking Distance Studios has announced the release date of a story DLC it’s calling the game’s “final chapter,” with the Final Transmission add-on launching on June 27th as a PlayStation exclusive.
It won’t be exclusive for long at all though, with keen players on other platforms having only 48 hours to wait as the DLC hits Xbox and PC soon after on June 29th.
The studio posted a short teaser for the “heart-pounding final chapter of The Callisto Protocol” on social media with protagonist Jacob Lee staring down a huge and grotesque robotic enemy.
The studio has been hard at work on updating The Callisto Protocol since it launched in December last year, introducing a heap of new features and tweaks, a New Game Plus mode, new difficulty levels and more.

We gave The Callisto Protocol a solid 8/10 in our original review, saying “The Callisto Protocol is a modest starting point for what I hope will flourish into another heavy-hitting horror franchise. It’s gory and gratuitous, with an endlessly satisfying combat system. But the lack of enemy variety scares, and surprises, even if engaging, stop it from being the horror game masterpiece it’s trying to be. Despite all of its shortcomings, it’s an immensely enjoyable romp that’s left me desperate for more.”
