Acclaimed artist Yoshitaka Amano, longtime contributor of concept art for the Final Fantasy series with a career dating back to the 1960s, has been tapped to create a very special piece of art in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of The Last of Us.
The artist has partnered up with Naughty Dog and frequent video game art merchants Cook & Becker to create the art, which is now available to pre-order as part of a campaign which has already far surpassed its initial sales goal of around $72,000 USD by at least double.
The piece hasn’t been revealed yet but will focus on the bond between Joel and Ellie, and the final image will be unveiled in mid- September, after which it’ll ship to pre-order customers. It won’t come cheap, with the most affordable version in the form of a poster running fans almost $100 AUD including shipping, right up to about $500 AUD for the “Deluxe” print.

Here’s what’s available to pre-order:
Deluxe Edition – The Deluxe print measures 28 x 39 inches and is a museum-grade art giclée with special screen printed embellishments. The Deluxe is only available during the campaign period. The edition’s limited run is determined by the amount of orders placed during the campaign but will not exceed 370 copies. The Deluxe has the autopen signature of Yoshitaka Amano.
Hand-signed Deluxe Edition (Sold Out) – The 28 x 39 inch hand-signed Deluxe is limited to an edition of 30 copies, of which 25 will be sold directly to consumers. The remaining five will be randomly distributed to lucky Deluxe edition buyers replacing their regular Deluxe version, giving fans with a more modest budget a chance to own a hand-signed Amano piece.
Premium Edition – This 28 x 39 inch museum-grade giclée is a limited edition of 750 copies with an autopen signature by Yoshitaka Amano.
Standard Edition – A high-quality digital offset poster (meaning it is not archival quality) measuring 20 x 28 inches. This smaller version of the Premium print is limited to 2.000 copies and our most budget-friendly option. Amano’s signature is printed on the poster.
