Horizon Forbidden West Looks To Be Getting A Complete Edition Release

Packed to the Raptors.

It looks as though Horizon Forbidden West, Guerrilla Games’ impressive 2022 open-world robot dinosaur hunting sequel, is getting the “Complete Edition” treatment soon with a listing from the Singapore “Infocomm Media Development Authority” ratings board outing it as an incoming compilation of previously-released game and expansion content.

We don’t have to wonder about what exactly makes up the Complete Edition either (not that there are too many options to choose from) with the listing, which is still live right here, describing exactly what’s involved, saying:

“Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition” is a compilation containing the original adventure game “Horizon Forbidden West” (Advisory 16) and “Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores” expansion. Set on post-apocalyptic Earth, the protagonist, Aloy, travels to the west to discover the source of a mysterious signal and to find a way to restore Earth.

Naturally, owing to the DLC being exclusive to the PlayStation 5, this Complete Edition is seemingly also a PS5 exclusive, though there’s no indication as to whether this might show up as a boxed release or solely a digital repackaging. And although it’s not mentioned in the listing, it’s easy to estimate that this could be part of PlayStation laying the groundwork for an eventual PC release.

We gave Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores expansion an 8/10 in our review, conceding that it launched a touch rough around the edges but offered up a compelling new location to explore along with exciting new characters to meet, while we called the base game in its 2022 launch “an exceedingly clever sequel, a deep and addictive action RPG, a dense world that unfolds with an impeccable sense of pace, a visual tour de force and the masterful delivery of a promising concept. Somehow, by some sheer creative force a big, blockbuster open world game about post-apocalyptic tribal warriors with AR headsets fighting robot dinosaurs works even better the second time around. If you have access to a PlayStation you owe it to yourself to play this right away.”
