Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Has Officially Gone Gold

Swinging in real soon!

Sure, it might not mean as much in our age of digital downloads and day one patches, but it’s a milestone worth celebrating nonetheless – Insomniac has announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the hugely-anticipated superhero sequel coming next month, has gone “gold.”

That means that, aside from any last-minute patch submissions between now and launch, work on the game has wrapped and it’s ready to be pressed to discs and pushed out to digital storefront servers across the globe.

Insomniac has celebrated the achievement with a short video on its social media, featuring the likes of Nadji Jeter, Yuri Lowenthal, Laura Bailey and new addition Tony Todd. A message within the video from the studio reads:

“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has officially GONE GOLD!

“We’re thrilled to share this milestone achievement with our studio and collaborators at PlayStation and Marvel Games, and with our incredibly community around the world.
