Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially revealed this morning alongside its first trailer and Rockstar has now revealed that it will only be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch.
When the game releases in 2025, it won’t be coming to PC and PS4/Xbox One owners will be forced to upgrade to the latest gen of consoles. Similarly, Nintendo isn’t mentioned although given the Nintendo Switch successor hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s not clear whether this will remain the case although we feel it’s unlikely it would launch day and date with the PS5/Xbox Series X|S versions.
In an extremely short press release that doesn’t have a lot of details about the game, Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025 and continued on by saying:
“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.
