Apple took to the virtual stage overnight to announce four new iPhone products (which I believe is a record in one event). The iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max were all announced sporting a brand new more rounded off design.
As always, these phones are quicker and faster than last year’s models and they all have OLED screens as well as 5G capability. It’s also worth mentioning that none of this year’s iPhones come with either a charger or headphones.
Let’s kick things off with the phone that most people will probably opt for. It has 5G (like the rest of the lineup), a 6.1″ OLED display, it’s 11% thinner and 16% lighter than the iPhone 11 and has a new type of glass called Ceramic Shield which is supposed to give it four times better drop resistance. As you can expect with every new iPhone, the camera is better than it was on the iPhone 11.

iPhone 12 Mini
People have wanted Apple to create a smaller iPhone for years and this is it. The iPhone Mini has everything that the iPhone 12 does, but it has a smaller 5.4″ display which is a bit bigger than an iPhone 6. It has the same design as the iPhone 12 with those nice smooth edges, and all of the benefits such as 5G/OLED that the regular iPhone 12 does.

For those that want better cameras and video quality, the iPhone 12 Pro is for you. Like the regular iPhone 12, it has 5G, an OLED display, that new more rounded, thinner and lighter design, but the iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1″ display and triple cameras. The iPhone 12 Pro also has a LiDar scanner is really great for AR as well as taking photos.

iPhone 12 Pro Max
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is where the magic really is. It has 5G, a massive 6.7″ OLED display, all of the features in the iPhone 12 Pro including triple cameras and a LiDar scanner, but the real improvements are in the lenses. The iPhone 12 Pro Max features a new sensor that’s roughly 47% larger which gives an 87% increase in low-light photography. The iPhone 12 Pro Max will also be able to shoot HDR video, which is pretty impressive.

Something that’s new to the 2020 iPhone range are MagSafe accessories. Just like how it used to exist on the Macbook, MagSafe allows you to wirelessly charge your iPhone using a magnetic charger. You can also get cases that snap to your iPhone, as well as a wallet that can then snap to the case.
Another exciting announcement was the reveal of the HomePod Mini. This will no doubt make it a lot more affordable for a lot of people to jump into the Apple Smart Speaker eco-system. It apparently has the same great sound that we’ve come to expect from the HomePod, and obviously you can use it to activate Siri to send messages, control your smart home and all of that good stuff.
