The NVIDIA RTX 4070 was announced on Wednesday with a suggested RRP of $1,109 for the Founder’s Edition (which isn’t making its way to Australia).

Retailer Mwave has popped up its RTX 4070 stock overnight, and surprisingly, there’s partner models for under $1,000 which makes it a much better value proposition.

NVIDIA RTX 4070 PERFORMANCE
As far as performance goes, it’s very clear that this is a 1440p card first and foremost, blowing past 100FPS in games such as Cyberpunk 2077 (with RT ultra), A Plague Tale Requiem, Dying Light 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
NVIDIA says that it has 1.4x times the performance of a 3080 when utilising DLSS 3.0 (1x performance with standard DLSS), 1.7x the performance of a 3070 Ti whilst utilising DLSS 3.0 (1.2x performance with standard DLSS) and 1.8x performance of a 3070 (1.3x performance with standard DLSS).
This is fairly impressive given that just like the RTX 4080, it’s using a lot less power than its predecessor, but performing better than the 3070/3080 that came before it. Thankfully, the card is a dual-slot card, which makes it a lot smaller than it’s bigger brothers, the 4080 and 4090.
