Disney has today announced that Disney Plus now has an ad-supported tier in Australia. It’s significantly cheaper at $9.99 a month (compared to $17.99 a month) and is exactly the same as the Standard tier in offering except that it has ads and you can’t download content to your device either.

NEW DISNEY PLUS TIER LINE-UP

  • Premium – $24.99 a month
  • Standard – $17.99 a month
  • Standard With Ads – $9.99 a month

Just as a reminder, Premium lets you access 4K/HDR video with Dolby Atmos audio in up to 4 devices at once, the Standard tier lets you access 1080p video with 5.1 audio on 2 devices at once and the Standard tier is the same but with ads.

All three tiers let you access ESPN live sports and the full range of content from Disney, and whilst most people would like ads, it’s at least a way to access content for cheaper if you’re already on the standard tier.
