AYANEO has lifted the lid on its AYANEO Next 2 handheld which will start shipping this month and whilst the handheld looks incredibly, the price (as expected), is also fairly incredible and not in a good way.
The company famously had to suspend pre-orders because the price of components of the handheld had doubled, but it did honour those prices for those who had already ordered and re-opened pre-orders for the middle model although the price is reflective of this.
The AYANEO Next 2 has a Strix Halo AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor with a Radeon 8060S integrated GPU that is paired with a massive 9-inch OLED 2400 x 1504 165hz resolution and a massive 116WH battery which is one of the largest to ever exist in a handheld. It has a huge amount of controls including an 8-way dpad, dual touchpad, four rear back buttons, hall effect analogue triggers and TMR joysticks.
AYANEO NEXT 2 PRICES
The AYANEO Next 2 will come in 3 configurations with only the middle model able to be ordered at the moment with shipping taking place this month.
- Ryzen AI Max 385 with 32GB/1TB – $4,330 AUD
- Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with 64GB/1TB – $5,350 AUD (only one availble to order)
- Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with 128GB/2TB -$7,660 AUD
AYANEO handhelds have been more expensive because they do push out a lot, and obviously don’t have the benefits of making money from other products/storefronts, and the AYANEO Next being this price is probably a better indication of how expensive memory and storage is at present amongst everything else in the world.
