During the Xbox Games Showcase, we got our first look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the long-awaited follow-up from GSC Game World.
As expected, the setting looks absolutely phenomenal and carries on the creepy aesthetic of the first game which, too, was set around the melted down Chernobyl power plant. There’s a lot of surreal imagery and the sense of place feels very on point.
It’s also been noted that, for the first time in the series, the Zone is an open-world for players to explore and is one of the biggest to date for the genre.
The game doesn’t yet have a release date, though it’s coming to Xbox Series X as a console exclusive and will be available through the Game Pass service.
