The Xbox Series X Is Finally Getting A 4K Dashboard

Xbox has confirmed that the Xbox Series X is finally getting a dashboard that is 4K compatible in the latest Alpha Insider update.

Previously, the Xbox Series X was limited at presenting its dashboard at 1080p which has been a common complaint for those that have splashed out on more expensive TVs. It’s unclear at this point if this also means that the dashboard will be presented in HDR after the latest update, which is another common complaint given the TVs shifts from a non-HDR to HDR when going from the dashboard to games.

It’s clear at this point that Xbox is focusing on its dashboard quite heavily with the recent announcement that the dash is also set to get a night mode and a number of other customisability.

  • With today’s update, Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders on Xbox Series X consoles connected to a 4K display can begin flighting an increased resolution UI. This change means Home, Guide, and other areas of the UI will be displayed in a higher native resolution for increased sharpness and text readability.

It’s unclear when the update will hit for non-Insiders, but we’ll keep you posted.
