Fortnite Is Xbox Cloud Gaming’s First Free-To-Play Title And It’s Playable On Apple Devices

Xbox and Epic Games have announced a partnership to make Fortnite the first free-to-play title available on browser-enabled devices running Xbox Cloud Gaming.

In the press release published today, Xbox Cloud Gaming Vice President Catherine Gluckstein highlighted the growth of the service with more than 10 million players on 6,000 different types of devices around the world having streamed games through the Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta as part of Xbox Game Pass ultimate.

Now, the idea of cloud gaming through Xbox will go beyond Game Pass with its first ever free-to-play game. Notably, this means that gamers on not just PC and Android but Apple iOS devices will be able to play Fortnite, which is huge news since Apple and Epic’s famous legal battle that resulted in the game being removed from Apple’s digital storefronts.
