Halo Infinite’s Local Splitscreen Co-Op Has Been Cancelled With Online Co-Op Delayed Again

Not great.

The roadmap for Halo Infinite has been revealed taking us all the way through to June 2023.

There’s some exciting updates, but a big announcement is that local splitscreen co-op has been cancelled. Whilst it’s easy to understand why this might be the case, it’s probably not the best look to announce it after those that were waiting to play in this year have waited close to a year already.

“In order to improve and accelerate ongoing live service development, and to better address player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on local campaign split-screen co-op,” said 343 Industries to IGN.

This comes after 343 said in 2019 that all future Halo games including Halo Infinite would have splitscreen local co-op;

Halo Infinite Roadmap

Thankfully, online co-op is still on the way but this has been delayed from it’s already super late August date to November 8th which is when the new Winter Update will drop the includes Forge, new maps and another free 30 tier battle pass.

The next season called Echoes Within will then drop on March 7th, 2023 and bring Arena & Big Team Battle, a new weapon (the M392 bandit), new equipment in the shroud screen and a 100 tire battle pass.
