High On Life Is Getting A Horror-Themed DLC Expansion

Cutting edge stuff, I'm sure.

Squanch Games revealed during this morning’s Xbox Games Showcase Extended that it’s launching a brand-new paid DLC expansion for last year’s comedy shooter, High On Life.

Titled High On Knife, the DLC is set to take things on a horror-tinged turn in an all-new chapter featuring new enemies, new talking weapons and what I assume will be a spooky twist on Squanch’s trademark barrage of dick jokes and constant, migraine-inducing yelling and screeching.

The DLC will include two new talking guns, a pistol voiced by SNL’s Sarah Sherman, and a pinball gun named B.A.L.L. who’s voiced by the High On Life’s narrative director, Alec Robbins. Michael Cusack returns to voice everyone’s least favourite swearing knife, Knifey, but there’s a distinct absence of High On Life’s star gun, Kenny, originally voiced by Justin Roiland who dropped from a number of projects and resigned from Squanch Games following domestic violence and abuse charges earlier this year.

“Since the launch of High On Life, we have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from players worldwide,” the studio said in a blog post on Xbox Wire. “The enthusiasm and passion shown by our community have exceeded our wildest expectations, making it clear that the game has struck a chord with gamers and that there is still a place for games like High On Life out there.

“At Squanch Games, we’re excited for everyone to get their hands on the new content in High On Knife and look forward to bringing great, off-beat games to all our fans in the years to come.”

High On Knife is slated to release this Spring for Xbox and PC as a paid add-on for High On Life. Check out the reveal trailer below:
