Just over a year after the last price increase, Xbox has announced that it is raising the price of the Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and discontinuing the 2TB Xbox Series X. This will all come into effect on August 1st.

Whilst we don’t have Australian prices yet, it’s a fairly significant jump with prices increasing by $100-$150 USD depending on the console.

NEW XBOX SERIES X|S CONSOLE PRICES

  • Series S 512GB: $499 USD (~$699 AUD)
  • Series S 1TB: $599 USD (~$799 AUD)
  • Series X 1TB: $800 USD (~$1,049 AUD)
  • Series X 1TB Digital: $750 USD (~$999 AUD)

Whilst we still need to wait for Australian prices, this could very well take the Xbox Series X to $1,000 or over going off the US price.

Worryingly, it doesn’t seem like this will be the last increase with Xbox saying “Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5x and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027.”
