As we get closer and closer to PS5 preorders going live, there’s two things you can do to make sure you’re in the best possible position to preorder once they go live.

This generation is a little bit different to those in the past. With the PS4/Xbox One/Nintendo Switch and generations prior, retailers were taking preorders as soon as those consoles were announced (even before pricing and launch date had been revealed).

Things are a little bit different this year for obvious reasons, and it’s clear that neither Sony/Microsoft as well as retailers want gamers preordering before they’ve got a clear indication of stock levels.

It was recently reported that Sony were ramping up production (by almost double) of PS5 units, but they were still unsure if they’d be able to ship enough around the world to meet demand beyond Christmas and into the new year.
