UPDATE: Nintendo Australia has confirmed that the price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2 will also be hitting Australia. As of September 1st, the Nintendo Switch 2 will get a $70 price increase in Australia and will cost $769.95. This has been the price of the Switch 2 bundles that include a game (Mario Kart World, Pokemon Legends Z-A and the upcoming Pokopia bundle).
“Beginning on 1st September 2026, Nintendo Australia will revise the SRP of the Nintendo Switch 2 console in Australia from AU$699.95 to AU$769.95, and in New Zealand from NZ$799.95 to NZ$969.95. This is in response to various changes in market conditions, which are expected to extend over the medium to long term. Pricing for the Nintendo Switch console is not changing.

ORIGINAL STORY: It’s been long expected, but Nintendo just confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a global price increase and the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Online will be getting a price increase in Japan.
Australia isn’t yet mentioned in the list, but the Nintendo Switch 2 will be getting a price increase in at least the US, Canada, Japan and Europe with the price increase to be $50 USD (~$70 AUD), ¥10,000, $50 CAD and €30.

- Japan-only Japanese language system: ¥49,980 to ¥59,980
- United States – US$449.99 to US$499.99
- Canada – CA$629.99 to CA$679.99
- Europe – €469.99 to €499.99
The good news is that there’s a bit of time to get the systems before they go up in price with the Japanese price increase hitting on May 25th and the US/Canada/Europe price increase not hitting until September 1st.
