Death Stranding

Death Stranding Is This Week’s Epic Games Store Freebie

Keep on keeping on.

The Epic Games Store’s Mega Sale is back again and in full swing, with huge discounts, limitless 25% off vouchers and a line-up of free PC games.

You can read all about the sale and how to get the biggest discounts here, but we also wanted to highlight this week’s PC game freebie separately as it’s a gem of a game that shouldn’t be missed, especially for the very low price of nothing.

From the legendary Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding is a superbly weird, infinitely gorgeous game that’s as confounding as it is divisive in all the best ways. So what better time to dip your toes in those cold, black waters than over the holidays and gratis?

You can get Death Stranding on PC for free right now (usually $44.99) through the Epic Games Store – all you need is an Epic account. Grab it here.

Death Stranding will only be free until 1AM on May 26th so make sure to add it to your library ASAP!

In our original review of Death Stranding, we said “Hideo Kojima has long been a visionary auteur, his feted career stands as proof. With no walls to contain him, he has given birth to Death Stranding. It’s an experience that will be remembered for a long time, from its early hype to the untethered lunacy of its narrative. It’s an art installation of a game that filled me with rage as often as it did joy. It is sweeping in both lustre and purpose, though it wears a few warts on the pleasant, bare bones of a game about deliveries that has no right to be as memorable as it somehow is.”

The PC version adds support for high frame rates, ultrawide resolutions, NVIDIA DLSS and all the visual and gameplay customisation options you would want in a PC port.
