Wasteland 3’s Trailer Hints At A Lighter Tone For The Series

After their purchase of inXile Entertainment, we’ve been excited to see what form Wasteland 3 would take when it was eventually revealed.

Based on the trailer shown during Xbox’s conference, Wasteland 3 appears to adopt a much lighter and jovial tone than its predecessors. The trailer gives us a glimpse at the game’s Colorado setting as we’re guided through by a gruff old prospector type who certainly appears to enjoy a snifter of the devil’s nectar.

Despite its lighter tone, we’re expecting Wasteland 3 will be as punishing and unforgiving as its predecessors. Based on the enormous mech-spider that bursts from the canyon, there’s certainly a fight to be had.

Though inXile is a Microsoft subsidiary, Wasteland 3 will still be releasing on PlayStation 4 and PC as well, probably in an effort to honour the crowdfunding reward tiers that would have helped in initially funding production on the game.

There’s no release date yet, but we’ll be sure to report if one emerges.
