According to an announcement made at Gamescom 2016, earlier today, PlayStack is a newly formed game publishing studio comprised of highly experienced leaders and individuals from various facets of the gaming, entertainment, and finance industry.

Ex-General Manager and Executive Producer of Electronic Arts, Harvey Elliott is the CEO and founder of the new London studio and boasts having previously shipped games worth over $1BN in market value. Elliot had this to say about the company’s desire to invest in these creative developers at the heart of their business strategy “The closure of so many leading studios means that a huge amount of creativity is at risk of going to waste, and puts us as players at risk of missing out of some of the defining experiences of the industry.”, says Elliott “By centering ourselves in the UK we will harness a rich pool of developer talent whilst creating an organisation capable of building global success for new IP”.

PlayStack’s debut title will be developed by Stratosphere Games and is an “adrenaline-pumping action title” called Nemesis: Air Combat. Slated for release in late 2016, Nemesis: Air Combat is a mobile game that allows the player to transform into a mercenary jet-fighter. Berlin-based Stratosphere Games, comprised of gaming veterans from Splash Damage, Rocksteady and Yager are thrilled to have PlayStack publishing their first  game and likewise the publishers are excited about creating a new breed of publisher that will aid up and coming developers to succeed in their endeavours from game concept to global launch.
