WE’VE TEAMED UP WITH ACER TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT THE ACER PREDATOR HELIOS 300 AND WHY WINDOWS 10 IS THE BEST WINDOWS EVER FOR PC GAMING.
When I’m purchasing a new laptop, the most important thing (and what I normally look at first) is the overall design, its form factor and how sleek it looks.
The Acer Predator Helios 300 ticks all the boxes for me. Not only is it a completely capable gaming laptop with a 7th Gen Core i7 CPU, 128gb SSD hard drive, GTX 1060 graphics card and 16GB DDR 4 RAM, it manages to somehow fit it all in an incredibly good looking shell. As opposed to most laptops in this price range, the Predator Helios 300 has a metal chassis which makes it sturdier and much nicer to look at than most Windows laptops. It features a black and red which is eye catching, but still looks quite professional. There’s a full keyboard (complete with number pad) and it utilises a red backlit keyboard and red WASD keys to ensure that they stand out.
When you open the lid, you’ll find a 15.6 inch, 1080p display. It’s sharp, vibrant and will please most gamers. From an audio point of view, Acer’s TrueHarmony speakers deliver loud audio that is clear and crisp. It’s great for music, movies and game audio alike.
The Acer Predator Helios 300 comes in at about 2.4kg and measures 15.4 x 10.5 x 1.5 inches. It’s a little larger than most 15.6inch laptops, but it manages to come in lighter, whilst still packing a punch with an excessive amount of ports. You’ve got an Ethernet jack, USB C port, a USB 3.0 port and an SD Card slot. On the other side you’ve got a headphone jack and another pair of USB 2.0 ports.
The specs in this laptop allow it to run most AAA games at high/full HD settings. It sits on the lower end of products when it comes to the Predator family, but it packs a punch at an affordable price. Battery life isn’t an issue either with it lasting over 6-7 hours with average performance.
