Everything Announced At Today’s PlayStation State Of Play

This morning, PlayStation hosted the first State of Play for 2022 which had its share of reveals and updates for games predominantly out of Japan but also across the globe.

Opening with a brand-new multiplayer PvE game from Capcom, and closing with an interesting-looking new action game from Square Enix, the presentation featured a bit of everything.

Here’s a rundown of everything announced and shown off:

Exoprimal

A brand-new announcement of a bonkers-looking multiplayer dinosaur battling game that looks to throw thousands of prehistoric predators at a squad of players in fancy exosuits. Coming to PS4 and PS5 2023.

Returnal Ascension

The long-rumoured Returnal DLC is on its way. A survival mode with a tower climb with procedurally-generated challenges and new weapons and enemies to contend with. There’s also the promise of answers to untold lore and some freaky, freaky bosses. Also includes campaign co-op! Coming very soon on March 22 with update 3.0

GhostWire Tokyo

This wouldn’t be a State of Play without a Bethesda title that’s literally on the verge of release getting a bunch of airtime, now would it? This one’s out on PS4 and PS5 on March 25, naturally.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin

Another game right about to release, but we get a brand-new demo on the PlayStation Store today! Coming March 18 on PS4 and PS5.

Forspoken

Another look at the recently-delayed open world action game from Square Enix’s Luminous Studios. This look shows off a fearsome dragon, a bunch of gorgeous-looking fighting and acrobatic traversal. Freya can even skate across water on a magical icy hoverboard from the looks. The new date for this one is October 11, 2022.
