By their own lofty standards, some might consider 2025 to have been a rather quiet year in terms of output from the industry-leading PlayStation.
Often known for their first-party tentpoles, they only managed to publish Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach last year. Although they both launched to rave reviews, and the latter even went on to win our Game of the Year award, it was a relatively tough year for PlayStation as they continued to feel the ramifications of their relatively misguided live-service push that has wrought havoc with their slate ever since.
Between Jade Raymond departing Haven and leaving Fairgame$ in a state of limbo, and Marathon’s lukewarm reception during its alpha tests, its subsequent delay, and its spectacular ‘art heist’, it’s fair to say PlayStation had its share of poor news and would be eager to hit the ground running in 2026.
Although there’ll be an enormous rush of third-party releases, including Grand Theft Auto 6 and Resident Evil Requiem, that’ll keep players committed all year long, we’ll cover those in a separate piece. For now, here are all of the PlayStation published and console-exclusive releases set for launch in 2026.
It’s worth keeping in mind that a couple of these are based on pure rumour, speculation, or educated guesses. Plus, we’re still in the dark as to what some studios, like Bluepoint, are developing.
Saros
Release Date: April 30

God of War’s Rumoured Egypt Spin-Off

A significant point of speculation is where exactly the God of War franchise goes next, with many believing it’s about to take a pivot away from Norse mythology to Egyptian mythology. Without any official word to go on, this is pretty much a ‘where there’s smoke, there’s fire’ kind of story.
Kratos has stomped a mudhole in two mythologies thus far, so a third certainly couldn’t hurt; the most recent rumours seemed to suggest that this Egyptian spin-off might be more akin to an action-platformer rather than a fully-fledged action-adventure game like God of War and God of War: Ragnarok.

Little Devil Inside

Cory Barlog’s New Project at Santa Monica Studios

Granted, little is known about Cory Barlog’s follow-up to 2018’s God of War; however, that won’t stop us from being unreasonably excited for whatever it is.
All we know is that it’s “not a new IP but feels like one,” so we could perhaps be looking at a technically ambitious, franchise reinvention similar to God of War. Whatever it is, we’re crossing fingers that 2026 is the year it’s unveiled.
