Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes is easily one of the strongest Universes Beyond releases since Final Fantasy and quite a massive step up from their previous Spider-Man set. The set is massive, featuring more than 500 cards packing lots of personality from heroes to villains across the universe with lots of fan favourites hitting the battlefield.
While players have plenty of characters and deck ideas to build around, the set also features a handful of chase cards that have collectors lining up alongside players. One of the standout features of Marvel Super Heroes is the variety of card treatments on offer.
There are plenty of alternate versions to collect, from stunning borderless cards to comic-inspired variants. The comic book cover treatments look gorgeous and probably one of the better chases I’ve seen in a while from Magic and lots of collectors have been gunning for these.
Unfortunately we didn’t hit any of the big hits like the comic book covers but we did hit some cool cards with amazing artwork and designs that look lifted straight from the comic book pages.
Here are some of the pulls we got from the packs that Wizards have sent out:

Overall, Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes feels like an improved release for the Universes Beyond overall. This set has done an excellent job capturing the essence of the Marvel universe which I felt was slightly missing from Spider-Man, delivering a set that appeals to both longtime Magic players and comic book fans alike. Between the huge roster of iconic characters, creative mechanics, and an impressive range of collectible card treatments, there’s something here for every type of player.
