Amazon have announced the Amazon Fire TV, a direct competitor to the Apple TV. It will primarily be used for watching movies and TV shows but will also include a gaming component that Apple are yet to feature on their streaming box.
It features a fast quad-core processor, 2GB of memory, dedicated GPU and outputs in 1080p HD for video and Dolby Digital surround sound.
It is available in the US for $99 with the controller being available for an extra $39.
