Hold onto your butts, Star Wars fans. As expected, during this month’s Star Wars Celebration fan gathering in Orlando, Florida, the teaser trailer for The Last Jedi, the eighth episode in the Star Wars saga, has debuted.
Given that it’s a teaser it certainly doesn’t give a whole lot away, and it does enough to ensure I’ll have my seat booked to see it when it comes out.
Rian Johnson’s very visual style of direction is in full flight as this teaser opens with some beautiful overhead shots of Luke Skywalker’s refuge island. We’re also treated to some shots to remind us where our heroes left off from The Force Awakens. Rey is seen in the thick of some lightsaber training montage, Finn still appears to be laid up from his near-death brush with Kylo Ren and Poe Dameron is striding heroically toward explosions, as only Oscar Isaac can do while still looking like a million bucks.
The trailer closes out with the cryptic line, “I only know one truth, it’s time for the Jedi to end.”
Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases in cinemas in December.
