Hans Zimmer Is Returning To Australia For Another Run Of Live Performances

It has been announced this morning that legendary film and videogame composer Hans Zimmer is returning to Australia for another string of performances. Known best for his work in cinema, German-born Zimmer has also composed and assisted on many scores in our medium also, including the most notable Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

This particular run of shows, ‘Hans Zimmer Live’, is the hugely anticipated follow-up to his 2017 tour. Unfortunately, he’s only hitting three cities so if you’re not on the east coast of Australia, you’re going to have to travel or risk missing out. He’ll be performing at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney and Brisbane Entertainment Center before winding things up at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

The official dates are:

  • Thursday, October 3 – Brisbane Entertainment Center, QLD
  • Saturday, October 5 – Qudos Bank Arena, NSW
  • Monday, October 7 – Rod Laver Arena, VIC

Though he won’t actually be performing any of his videogame scores, Zimmer’s performance is going to span his decades-long career in cinema while dazzling audiences with a spectacular light show.

“Performing a concert series like ‘Hans Zimmer Revealed’ was something I always wanted to do in Australia and I’m thrilled that I got to do that in 2017,” said Hans Zimmer. “I’m now beyond excited that I’m able to do it all again in 2019, with a new show, and the help of some very talented friends. We’re looking forward to seeing you again soon Australia!”

We’re expecting a performance that includes all of his touchstone works, from The Lion King to Interstellar, from Blade Runner 2049 to The Dark Knight.

Tickets for Hans Zimmer Live go on sale Monday, June 17 at 10:00 am via MJR Presents.
