The Borderlands Movie Has Gathered Some Big Names Already

It was bound to happen eventually.

Borderlands is one of the greatest selling video game franchises of all time, and its treasure hunting antics seem ripe for film adaptation.

Today, Deadline caught wind that Jamie Lee Curtis has signed on to the film. Rumour has it she’ll be playing none other than Patricia Tannis.

Curtis joins Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart in the film, who will play Lilith and Roland respectively.

We don’t know much about the film as of yet, but it is apparently set in the distant future, seeing four vault hunters travel to Pandora to hunt down an alien vault.

Craig Mazin wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay – who himself has been busy. Coming off off the HBO series Chernobyl, he’ll also be penning the script for the The Last of Us film too.

The notorious Randy Pitchford, executive producer of the Borderlands video game franchise and founder of Gearbox Entertainment, and Strauss Zelnick, chairman, and CEO of 2K parent Take-Two Interactive will also produce the film.

Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) will direct.
