It Looks Like An Atari 2600 LEGO Set Is On The Way

German LEGO fansite Promobricks has revealed the existence of an Atari VCS / Atari 2600 LEGO kit set to launch in August to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Atari.

The website’s sources state that the set, numbered 10306, will be a roughly 1:1 size with the real console and include the joystick controller. Interestingly, it also claims that the LEGO Atari will be hinged to reveal a scene from the classic Pitfall! which will apparently feature some degree of movement. The LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System featured something similar with its CRT TV replica that had a rotating belt showcasing part of a level from Super Mario Bros.

The LEGO Atari 2600 will supposedly be available exclusively through LEGO this August, while other retailers will have to wait until January 2023. It estimates that the set will cost around USD $199.99 (roughly AUD $280).

Now, if LEGO can somehow wrangle this set so that it’s exactly 2,600 pieces (the LEGO NES was around the same) they’d be totally nailing this.
