We’ve Had Our First Glimpse At The New Sonic Prime Series For Netflix

Gotta go fast!

In this, this year of Sonic, we’ve had our first glimpse at the new animated series, called Sonic Prime, coming to Netflix.

In a sizzle reel showing off the streaming giant’s kid-friendly programming, a brief clip plays at the end, giving us our first good look at the ‘Blue Blur’ in action collecting rings throughout the Green Hill Zone. The clip also gives us our first look at Deven Mack’s performance as Sonic.

For those not keen on skimming through Netflix’s montage, the official Sonic account tweeted out the clip in its entirety.

While there’s no premiere date set for Sonic Prime, the show is apparently going to consist of Sonic defending the multiverse from peril, which sounds pretty rad if you ask me.

The initial run is expected to be 24-episodes, although there’s obviously room to grow if the show is as successful as the movies have been, with the recent sequel killing it at the box office and becoming the highest-grossing video game adaptation ever, eclipsing the first Sonic the Hedgehog which released during the height of the pandemic.

We’re also expecting to see more of the new open-world Sonic Frontier, which is due for launch sometime this year.
