Fallout 5

Here’s Our First Look At The Fallout TV Show

Out of the vault

After being announced back in July 2020, we haven’t heard or seen a whole lot about Amazon Prime’s upcoming TV series based on the world of Fallout – especially in recent months amid writers and actors strikes. Out of nowhere though, some unofficial set photos from the show have been doing the rounds on social media thanks to someone using their best Sneak skill to snap some pics.

The photos definitely give off the post-apocalyptic Americana vibe of the series with burnt-out classic cars strewn across roads next to dry palms and once-tidy neighbourhoods. An actor can be seen dressed as a Raider in one shot, along with a giant Vault-Tec logo painted on the ground. Take a look below:

The Fallout series is being produced by Kilter Films in collaboration with Amazon Prime and Bethesda, with Lisa Joy (co-creator of Westworld) and Jonathan Nolan (writer and director on Westworld, writer on Interstellar) developing the show. The cast will include Walton Goggins (The Righteous Gemstones, Invincible), Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Arcane) and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Dune). Filming began in July last year and the series is set to premiere some time in the first half of 2024.

The series is believed to be based on the original Fallout, which released on PC in 1997 and was developed by Black Isle Studios, long before Bethesda took the reins and released the iconic Fallout 3 in 2008.

“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time,” Joy and Nolan said when the series was first announced. “Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”
