Fallout Season 2 Already Looks To Be Happening

Out of the vault.

We’re just days away from the premiere of Prime Video’s hugely-exciting new Fallout series, but it already appears that a second season is on the cards, with Variety reporting that the state of California is looking to put up $25 million in tax incentives to move production there for the next run.

The first season of Fallout was produced largely in New York with some filming also taking place in Utah, and reportedly cost Amazon Studios a whopping $153 million USD. While it’s noted that this offering of tax credits in order to move production to California doesn’t necessarily guarantee that that’s what will happen, the fact that these incentives are applied for by studios and that the state has already pre-awarded them to Amazon for the purpose of producing a second season of Fallout is a pretty big indication that Amazon is already set on moving ahead with more of the show.

The full series of Fallout drops this week with all episodes hitting Prime Video on Thursday, April 11th.

Set in Los Angeles a whole 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse, Fallout will follow Lucy (played by Ella Purnell) as she steps out of Vault 33 into the unknown and unhinged world above. The trailer gives us a good look at life both in the vault and above the surface, as well as the packed cast of eccentric characters played by the likes of Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Emerson and more.

“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have,” the trailer’s description reads.

“200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.”
