Although it did accidentally slip ahead of time, Ubisoft has now officially revealed the release date for Star Wars Outlaws, its new and hugely anticipated open-world title from Ubisoft Massive.
The game’s new Story Trailer not only reveals the launch date of August 30th, 2024 along with a couple of special editions that include three days earlier access, but also sets up more of the game’s world and characters.
You can watch the trailer just below to learn more about Kay Vess and her companion Nix as they navigate a tumultuous era where the Empire’s rule is distracted by an unrelenting rebellion, leading the seedy underbelly of the universe the thrive. Dodging the attention of one criminal syndicate while enlisting the help of others, Kay and Nix set out to pull off the heist of a lifetime, and one that might just save their skins. The trailer shows off some new characters, and some iconic. Check it out:
“In search of true freedom, the resourceful Kay and Nix will journey through the underworld and across the Outer Rim, taking on jobs from syndicates, facing off against intimidating foes, avoiding oppressive Imperial rule and recruiting a skilled outlaw crew in order to pull off one of the greatest heists the galaxy has ever seen,” shared Julian Gerighty, the game’s creative director, in a press release.
“Star Wars Outlaws invites fans to experience a side of the galaxy that has a treasure trove yet to be explored, the exploits of the scoundrels taking advantage of the golden age of the underworld. We’ve been inspired by Massive Entertainment’s dedication to bringing this aspect of Star Wars to life, including both iconic and new things for fans to explore in an open world,” added Douglas Reilly, vice president at Lucasfilm Games.
Star Wars Outlaws is up for pre-order right now with a standard edition and two special editions that grant access to a season pass as well as three days early access so players can start their journey as early as August 27th. Here’s what’s in each:
