It’s been almost exactly a year since it was revealed to be in development, but EA and Respawn have finally announced a release date for the last-gen versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
The PS4 and Xbox One versions of last year’s well-received sequel will launch on September 18th (AEST), for a price of $74.95, and will reportedly feature “a variety of optimisations aimed at maximising the hardware capabilities of the consoles.”
It’ll certainly be interesting to see how much the game has been optimised, given the performance struggles we saw when it originally released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, but numerous patches and updates post-launch have certainly turned that version’s fortunes around, so there’s good enough reason to believe it’ll hold up alright. Crucially, it’s a whole lot more people that will finally be able to experience the game.
Respawn also confirmed that a new update for the game is set to arrive in the next few weeks that will further improve performance and controls, and introduce new quality-of-life improvements, specifically for PC players.
Those who opt to pre-order the last-gen version of Jedi Survivor will also get access to an “Obi-Wan Kenobi inspired” cosmetic pack featuring the following:
- The “Hermit” Cosmetic
- The “Hermit” Lightsaber Set
- The “Combustion” Blaster Set”
The critically acclaimed #StarWarsJediSurvivor is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 17, 2024!

We gave Star Wars Jedi: Survivor a huge 9/10 in our review last year, with James saying “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sharpens combat and exploration to a fine point while delivering a story that goes all in on its characters and human drama. Some minor pacing issues can’t stop the game from achieving exciting new heights for the series, if you’re willing to let it take you there.”
