The Three Biggest Nintendo Switch Ports Are Launching In The Same Week

It’s no secret that one of the major reasons why the Nintendo Wii U never took off was simply due to the fact that the big third-party AAA games never came to the platform.

So far, this hasn’t been the case with the Nintendo Switch and it only seems to be getting better as the months roll on.

NBA 2k18 and FIFA 18 released on the console to largely positive reviews and proved that these games suit portable consoles perfectly. I’ve already put more than 20 hours into FIFA 18 on the Switch.

Now, we’re still yet to get probably the three biggest third party AAA ports. DOOM, L.A Noire and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are all launching later this year, but surprisingly, they’re all coming out in the same 7 day period.

DOOM is probably the most surprising considering it was only announced a month or so ago. It’ll be the first to release on Friday, November 10th, L.A. Noire which will have Switch specific modes is next to release on Tuesday, November 14th and then Skyrim, the first third-party game to be announced for Switch (and one that we’ll sink many, many hours into) will come on November 14th.

THE GAMES

  • DOOM – November 10th
  • LA Noire – November 14th
  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – November 17th

Now, I personally want to play all of these games again on the Nintendo Switch, but I don’t really understand why they’re all releasing so close to each other (especially when two are from the same publisher).

It’s a fact that gamers only have a certain amount of money, and with all of these being full priced releases, I can’t help but feel that they will all suffer from being so close to each other.

It’s a great time to be a Nintendo Switch owner, and it doesn’t look like changing any time soon. I’m excited to see what the next 6-12 months bring.
