Metroid Prime 4 Is Restarting Development With Retro Studios At The Helm

In a surprise announcement, Nintendo has just dropped a video on Twitter and YouTube with an update on Metroid Prime 4.

Nintendo revealed in the video that development would start from scratch due to the fact that they weren’t happy with how development was going.

The good news is that Retro Studios will now take charge of the game. The bad news is that it’s starting from scratch and is probably 3-4 years away at the very least.

Nintendo apologised for the delay and said that an update would not come for some time.

It’s unclear what this means for the project that Retro had been working on for years (it was reportedly a Star Fox racing game).
