Nintendo has announced that it will end the My Nintendo Gold points program. As of March 25th, you’ll no longer to earn gold points and any that you have will expire within 12 months from when you earned them.
My Nintendo Gold Points were given to gamers for both digital and physical games and were then able to be used on future purchases and often allowed games to be purchased for cheaper especially combined with vouchers.
Nintendo made the announcement on Twitter saying:
“From March 25th, it will no longer be possible to earn My Nintendo Gold Points. Existing Gold Points can still be used after this date on #NintendoSwitch #eShop within 12 months of being earned.”
