In addition to Nintendo ending the My Nintendo Gold points program, the company has also confirmed that the extremely popular Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers program won’t work with Nintendo Switch 2 games.
“Regarding Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games: Please note that Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games.” said Nintendo on the eShop page for Switch game vouchers.
Whilst it isn’t a massive deal, some people did take advantage of Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers which allowed you to buy two games at a cheaper rate and were often able to be paired with other programs to save a bit of money on Switch games at launch, and given Nintendo games stay fairly firm in price, were a great way to save a bit of money.
It’s going to be interesting to see if Nintendo introduce anything for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the way of the My Nintendo Gold points program as well as the Nintendo Switch game vouchers program.
