Wolfenstein 3D Returns With An Alt-History Twist In Wolfenstein 2

Talk about neat secrets in games, the Wolfenstein series under MachineGames has had plenty of them. With constant nods to the classics, it’s no surprise that Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is going to follow suit.

As revealed by Polygon, The New Colossus features the full game of Wolfenstein 3D, only there’s a little bit of an alternate-history twist on it. You’re playing as the baddies.

In between missions, players can enjoy all the comforts you’d expect from the resistance fighters’ home base, built in the belly of a captured Nazi U-boat. Booze, music and even video games are in large supply. There’s an arcade machine running a game called Wolfstone 3D, a twisted revisioning of the classic. Instead of hunting the Nazis, you’re slaying B.J’s Kreisau force or terrorists as they’re branded in-game. And where portraits of Adolf Hitler once perched proudly on the walls rest pictures of the Reich’s most wanted man, B.J. Blazkowicz himself.

Wolfstone 3D features the full six episodes the original game had and even features a save system.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus launches on October 27.
