It’s been over a year since Deep Silver announced that UK Studio Sumo Digital had taken over development on Dead Island 2.
Before that, it was also radio silence since the publisher revealed that Deep Silver had parted ways with former developer Eager in 2015.
Dead Island 2 was originally supposed to launch in 2015 before it entered development hell.
Deep Silver has confirmed to Eurogamer that despite the lack of new information coming about the game that it’s still very much in development by Sumo Digital.
The statement that Deep Silver sent over to Eurogamer reads: “Dead Island 2 is in development at Sumo Digital, and we are excited by the progress the team are making with Deep Silver’s most successful IP. When we are ready to share more information, we will.”
I was a massive fan of the original game, but I’ve grown to be worried about the sequel.
