Sony has just dropped the second PS5 system update since the console hit shelves.

It weighs in at 868mb (same as the day one update) and hopefully it fixes some of the rest mode issues that have been plaguing the console over the 4-5 days since it released. These include people having issues charging their controllers in rest mode, as well as crashes coming out of rest mode (that can sometimes result in a hard lock).

The patch notes say the below:

  • Version: 20.02-02.25.00 This system software update improves system performance.

It’s interesting that Sony has gone with a name different structure of software updates. On PS4, it was fairly easy to follow whilst it’s already getting quite confusing in terms of knowing which are minor updates and which are major.

We’ll keep you posted if we see any changes.
